U Zlate Studne

U Zlaté studně 4, Prague 1 Lesser Town, 118 00

History of the building U Zlaté Studně dates back all the way to the year 1528. A rumor has it that the building was a gift from the Emperor Rudolf II to the astronomer Tycho de Brahe, who apparently saw a vision of the Virgin Mary here. After that the famous astronomer made a new curbing around the well and had some of its sections gold plated. Already around the year 1900 the building had a small pub with a fascinating view of the Prague’s roofs.

Restaurant TERASA U ZLATÉ STUDNĚ is located on the fourth floor of the U Zlaté studně Hotel, with the view that will convince you that Prague is really the city of one hundred spires. After your lunch you can enjoy a walk in the gardens of the Prague Castle (during the opening hours). The direct entrance to the gardens from the restaurant terrace used to serve as a private entrance for the Emperor Rudolf II.
