Old Town & Jewish Museum

Old Town, Staré Město, is one of the most famous medieval places in Prague. From its early history (around 9th century) Old Town became famous for its markets on the bank of the river Vltava. In the 13th century obtained the civic rights from the King Vaclav I. Our tour includes all important places like Old Town Square, Old Town Hall with famous Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, picturesque streets, medieval churches and towers.  


Josefov, former Jewish Ghetto, is town quarter and the smallest cadastral area of Prague completely surrounded by Old Town. The Jewish community has been lived here since 10thcentury. For many people this place is magic, associated with legends and long history. The Jewish Museum, founded in 1906, houses a unique collection of diverse artefacts and documents. It is spread out over many buildings and synagogues. You can visit the Maisel Synagogue, the Pinkas Synagogue and  the Old Jewish Cemetery ,  the Klausen Synagogue,  the Spanish Synagogue and the Ceremonial Hall. You shouldn´t miss the oldest active Synagogue in Europe - the Old New Synagogue that was built in 1270. Josefov is also the birthplace of the famous writer Franz Kafka.
